Let’s hike the highest volcano with 511 meters above the sea level! Along the way you will observe 360º of the earth’s curvature and the whole island. Poike : duration 5 hrs
Hike to the oldest and most eroded volcano. Visit the “cave of the virgins” and later walk to a giant carved face Known as Vai a Heva, which served as a water receptacle in old times.
Rano Kao volcano: duration 3 hrs.
Starting point will be CONAF visiting the green house with many endemic species that are going to be reforested. We will walk up the volcano through Vai a Tare, the left side of Rano Kao and observe the magnificent views of dramatic cliffs and the crater’s caldera. We will finish our walk observing the “motu” or islets where the competitors swam to get the first egg of the manutara.
